The Design Your Home for Success process helps you turn your home into a sanctuary where you can recharge and feel inspired to connect you to and achieve your future dreams

How does the Design Your Home for Success Process work?

The Design Your Home for Success process helps you assess what needs to be removed from your home and what new objects, images and elements can be introduced to represent and connect you to achieve your future goals and dreams.

The Design Your Home for Success process consists of 3 easy steps:

Step 1: Remove Clutter & Negative Anchors

Understand which elements need to be removed from each room and why.

Step 2: Establish Positive Anchors

Select and place positive Anchors that represent and connect you to the life you desire throughout your home.

Step 3: Anchors In Action

Establish each Anchor with intention, then feel what that Anchor represents and acknowledge that you are deserving of that awesome result.

How quickly can I see results?

You will see and start to feel the difference straight away. Most of us have been living in the same home environment for a long time, surrounded by the same objects, elements and images. Many of these may not be representing the future you want to be living.

Besides clutter, we also hang onto keepsakes and mementos that remind us, even if only subconsciously, of fears and limiting beliefs from our past that stay with us.

Hanging onto these types of reminders, or negative Anchors as we call them, influences your present and future, and can hold you back from living the life you really want to be living.

What’s powerful about this process is that you get a chance to personally put intention behind the changes you make. This improves the way your home looks and the way you feel straight away.

How much will it cost me and can I do it on a budget?

Yes, you can take on the Design Your Home for Success process on a budget. You can invest as much or as little as you like in the changes you make to your home.

This process is all about small changes you make in your HomeSpace that have a positive impact in your life. For example, simply de-cluttering a room gives you immediate results. Rearranging your furniture or upgrading to a nicer bath towel brand also gives you immediate, tangible results. Moderate changes such as purchasing fabrics or painting a wall can also have a big impact for a relatively low price.

That’s not to say you can’t invest a larger amount in this process as you experience a breakthrough in your financial abundance.

I'm renting at the moment. Is it worth doing this process even though I don't own the home?

Yes. Whatever environment you live in and call home is still an external extension of your MindSpace. It’s important to take responsibility for your home environment whether you own it or rent it. Deciding how much you invest in this process is a personal decision.

Why should I care what anyone else thinks of my home?

Your HomeSpace is usually your largest financial investment and the place where you spend most of your time.

People who experience your HomeSpace take away an impression of who you are, what you want and where you are going in life. At MindSpaceDesign we believe in showcasing the very best of you to your family, friends, community and romantic partner.

If I'm in a relationship and living with someone does my partner need to be doing this process as well for it to work?

The most important person you need to get on board with this process is yourself. When you make positive changes using this process you will improve every area of your life, including your relationship.

If you are living with someone else it’s a great idea to share this process and try and enroll him or her as a teammate. Accept that you can’t force anyone to do anything, so if they don’t want to give it a try just yet, that’s ok too. Ultimately, if the other person sees positive changes in your life then chances are they will ask you what you are doing and will be inspired to do the same.

If my partner and I have kids, can this process be used by all of us?

The great thing about this process is that it’s easy and it makes sense. The more people in the household that embrace this process, the more powerful it becomes.

It’s also a great way for parents and kids to have fun and work together. We provide plenty of tips for enrolling your kids in this process.

Can this process help my kids?

Helping your kids to embrace this simple method will inspire them to get creative about their goals and dreams. Helping your kids to embrace this simple method will inspire them to get creative about their goals and dreams.

This process really helps kids connect to how they want their own life to look and feel, and encourages them to know that they are deserving of that awesome reality.

How was the process created?

In 1999 James left his home, his family and a successful career in Australia to try and break into the fast paced world of photography in New York City.

Unfortunately the timing for his leap of faith couldn’t have been worse. When James finally did find an agent after not working for more than a year he thought his luck had changed. Eighteen months later that agent declared bankruptcy, stole almost a years worth of his earnings and fled the city. Soon after he watched in horror as the September 11 World Trade Center disaster literally unfolded before his eyes.

“Those were dark, dark days.” James confides as he opens up with raw honesty. “I was depressed, defeated and filled with despair as I watched was left of my savings and self-confidence dwindle.”

Then one day he made the fateful decision that would change his life: he splurged $65 he didn’t have on a small, luxurious berry-scented candle. The high-end candle represented the life that he really wanted to live and each day he would use a simple ritual to connect to what that candle symbolized. He proceeded to upgrade other small objects in his tiny studio apartment like his bedding, towels and even his toilet paper.

Against all odds, James’ practice of focusing on the small symbols of the life he wanted to create started to turn his life around.

What began with a small Parisian candle flourished into a dream life as an award-winning and world-renown photographer, filmmaker and activist.

The results? Peace of mind, greater professional achievements, better health/well-being, financial abundance and a loving relationship – things you are likely seeking, too.

The discovery of the solution

In an effort to lighten his mood, and change his situation around, James uncovered a simple, cost-effective solution that is part of the process you’ll learn here. What is the solution? Focus on various objects, elements and images in the home that represent the life you really want to live.

Through a simple ritual of focusing on how those objects made him feel in that moment, James realized that these symbols (called Anchors in this process) connected him to how it would feel to be actually living the lifestyle of his dreams. Small changes could make a big difference in the way he felt and the outcomes he experienced in his life. As a result of this simple method, James was able to turn his life around and experience more success, joy and balance in all areas of his life.

In 2008 he designed and built Ananda a contemporary lake house and interior experience in upstate New York. James rigorously tested his process and principles while building this home, and he was not disappointed by the results. Ananda has caught the attention of leading design publications like Architectural Digest, LUXE U.S. and Belle Australia.

Wanting to share this powerful process with a larger audience, James articulated the Design Your Home for Success process into 3 simple steps.

The process helps you assess what needs to be removed from your home and what new objects, images and elements can be introduced to represent and connect you to your future goals and dreams.

By using this process anyone can learn how to create a beautiful home environment that constantly connects you with how you really want your life to look and feel. More importantly, it reminds you that you are deserving of that awesome reality and sets you up to realize that result.
